Kangana Ranaut Applauds Hema Malini's Bharatanatyam in Throwback Video
Amidst her foray into politics as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut took a moment to praise fellow actor and BJP leader Hema Malini.
Sharing a glimpse from the past on her Instagram Stories, the Queen actress posted a throwback video featuring Hema Malini’s captivating Bharatanatyam performance from her early twenties.
In her caption, Kangana lauded Hema Malini’s enduring talent, noting that even now, she can mesmerize audiences with lengthy stage performances. Kangana also condemned those who belittle dance, music, and art, labeling such attitudes as narrow-minded.
Drawing parallels to mythology, Kangana highlighted the significance of dance, music, and art in Indian culture. She referenced Arjuna’s learning of these arts and Lord Shiva’s bestowal of such talents upon humanity, invoking the title ‘Nataraj’ associated with the deity.
Earlier this month, Kangana Ranaut stood in solidarity with Hema Malini, condemning sexist and misogynistic remarks made by Congress leader Randeep Surjewala. Kangana praised Hema’s lifelong dedication to the arts and rebuked derogatory comments against her as unacceptable.
In her political journey, Kangana Ranaut is contesting from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, a region historically associated with the Congress party.
Switching gears to her cinematic endeavors, Kangana is gearing up for her upcoming film ‘Emergency,’ which also marks her directorial debut as a solo filmmaker.
