May 9, 2025: Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut is all set to make her Hollywood debut with the upcoming horror drama ‘Blessed Be the Evil’, according to Variety. The film will also feature Tyler Posey of Teen Wolf fame and Scarlet Rose Stallone, daughter of Sylvester Stallone, best known for her role in Tulsa King.

Production for the film is scheduled to begin this summer in New York, with the choice of location reportedly made to avoid potential complications related to newly announced Trump-era industry tariffs, as noted by Variety.
Directed by Anurag Rudra, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Gatha Tiwary, president and founder of Lions Movies, the film explores themes of grief, faith, and supernatural evil. The plot centers on a Christian couple grappling with the aftermath of a tragic miscarriage, who move to an abandoned farm with a dark, haunted past—only to be tested by a sinister force.
Rudra, who has Indian roots, explained the cultural inspiration behind the story:
“Being born and spending my childhood in rural India, I was told stories that got embedded in my mind and heart. This folklore was so special that I truly believed in all the stories and wanted to showcase them internationally through the art of cinema—the strongest and most beautiful way to connect dreams and reality,” he told Variety.
This film marks a significant international step for Ranaut, who earlier this year both directed and starred in the political biopic ‘Emergency’, portraying former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Tyler Posey is no stranger to the horror genre, having appeared in the 2018 supernatural thriller ‘Truth or Dare’. Scarlet Rose Stallone, meanwhile, brings her growing acting experience, having starred in projects like The Gunslingers alongside Nicolas Cage and Reach Me.
‘Blessed Be the Evil’ promises a unique blend of Indian folklore, psychological horror, and emotional depth, bringing together a global cast under an ambitious vision.
