The announcement came after Ranaut’s successful election campaign in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. In a statement, Kangana expressed her inspiration from William Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth,’ highlighting that the essence of ‘Emergency’ is the havoc unleashed when ambition goes unchecked by moral constraints. She described the film as one of the most sensational chapters of Indian democracy and eagerly anticipated its global release.
‘Emergency,’ directed and produced by Kangana Ranaut, features an impressive cast including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in significant roles. The film, backed by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, delves into one of India’s most turbulent political periods, promising a gripping portrayal of historical events. Kangana Ranaut’s political career also reached a milestone as she secured her first victory on a BJP ticket from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.
