Kangana’s Reaction to Punjab Ban

Kangana recently expressed her gratitude to audiences for their response to the film but also shared her disappointment over the ban in Punjab. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Sikh organizations protested against the film, resulting in its non-release in the state.

Speaking on social media, Kangana said, “Punjab mein meri filmein sabse acha perform karti hai. Aur aaj ek din hai jab Punjab mein meri film ko release tak nahi hone diya jaraha hai (My films have always performed best in Punjab. But today, my film isn’t even allowed to release there).

About the Film

Directed and co-produced by Kangana Ranaut, Emergency delves into the political and societal upheaval during the 1975 Emergency period in India. Alongside Kangana, the film features performances by Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, and the late Satish Kaushik.

Despite its gripping premise and star-studded cast, Emergency has faced challenges at the box office, compounded by state protests and competition from other releases.
