The film, which hit theatres on January 17, 2025, underperformed at the box office, grossing ₹21.65 crore in India, as per Sacnilk.com.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Kangana shared a fan post featuring collages of her and Indira Gandhi, confirming the film’s streaming debut. She simply wrote, “17th March releasing on @netflix.”

Directed by and starring Kangana Ranaut, Emergency is a political drama centered around the Emergency period (1975-1977) declared by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film delves into one of India’s most controversial political phases, exploring power struggles and governance challenges.
