Kanguva Box Office Collection Day 6: Struggles For 100 Crore
November 21, 2024: Suriya’s much-anticipated magnum opus Kanguva seems to be in choppy waters at the box office, with worldwide collections struggling to reach the 100-crore mark in its first six days. Despite being touted as a grand 300-crore project, the film’s underwhelming performance has raised concerns about its financial recovery. However, the Hindi version has achieved a minor milestone by surpassing the lifetime collection of Kamal Haasan’s Vikram in the same language.
On Day 6, November 19, Kanguva managed to collect ₹3.25 crore, showing a marginal improvement over Monday’s ₹3.15 crore. However, this growth is far from enough, given the film’s mammoth budget and expectations.
Here’s the total box office breakdown for the film so far:
The Hindi version has contributed ₹12.1 crore to the total, while the Tamil version remains the leader with ₹33.88 crore. The Telugu version follows with ₹13.75 crore.
Made on an estimated budget of ₹350 crore, Kanguva has only managed to recover around 20% of its investment in six days. With the current pace, it appears highly unlikely for the film to break even, let alone turn a profit.
Daily Breakdown of Collections (India):
While Kanguva struggles overall, its Hindi version has surpassed the lifetime collections of Kamal Haasan’s Vikram in the same language. Vikram had earned ₹11 crore in the Hindi market, compared to Kanguva’s ₹12.1 crore so far.
Hindi Version Daily Breakdown:
With disappointing collections and tough competition at the box office, Kanguva is at risk of becoming one of the biggest underperformers of the year. Suriya’s fans may still hold hope for a late surge in collections, but with the current trend, the road ahead appears steep for this grand project.
