Rishabh Shetty, the acclaimed actor from the blockbuster film Kantara, recently discussed the evolving landscape of Kannada cinema and provided updates on the much-anticipated Kantara Part 2 during an interview at the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA).
Shetty expressed concern over the limited opportunities for Kannada films on OTT platforms, emphasizing the need for greater support within the industry. He stated, “We are getting very few opportunities for Kannada films, and I hope for better prospects in the future. We should prioritize it because that will also bolster the industry.”
Regarding his National Award win, Shetty mentioned that while he doesn’t feel excitement or expectation, he acknowledges the honor comes with a responsibility. He conveyed gratitude and a commitment to hard work moving forward.
The actor noted how the recognition has significantly influenced his career, prompting him to start working on new projects immediately. “The love and recognition from people and the industry have changed everything,” he remarked.
Although opportunities in Bollywood may arise, Shetty reaffirmed his dedication to Kannada cinema, stating, “If I get an opportunity, I will definitely do it. But right now, my concentration is in Kannada
