May 17, 2025: Kanye West has reportedly handed over legal and business authority to his wife, Bianca Censori, as he grapples with a growing storm of lawsuits and controversy. According to InTouch Weekly, West, who now goes by Ye, signed a power of attorney document giving Censori control over various decisions on his behalf. This development comes after a recent reconciliation between the couple following a turbulent period in their relationship.

The document, titled “Designation of Agency,” grants Censori the power to make decisions and sign off on business matters for the embattled rapper and fashion mogul. It’s also become a focal point in court proceedings, with Kanye’s legal team insisting the document is confidential and should be sealed under a protective order. However, opposing counsel is pushing back.

Legal Firestorm Intensifies
Kanye is facing nearly a dozen lawsuits, primarily from former employees of his Yeezy brand and Donda Academy. The allegations include racism, antisemitic behavior, abuse, wrongful termination, and the distribution of explicit content. Among the most prominent cases is that of Benjamin Provo, a former security guard at Donda Academy, who claims he was mistreated and forced into performing personal errands for West.

In court documents, Provo alleges Kanye treated white staff more favorably than Black employees, stating, “Kanye was polite and attentive to his white employees, but he was abrupt, rude, and disrespectful to me and other Black employees.” He is now asking the court to fine Kanye $2,610 for failing to turn over requested documents, including those clarifying Bianca Censori’s new legal role.
Confidentiality Battle
While Kanye’s team has acknowledged Bianca’s power of attorney status, they argue that the legal documentation is sensitive and should not be made public. “The actions taken were done in good faith for legitimate business reasons,” said Ye’s attorney Eduardo Martorell, who recently took over amid a wave of departing lawyers.
Still, Provo’s legal team contends that since Kanye brought up the document himself, it must be disclosed—or at least verified—under oath. So far, none of the requested materials have been turned over.
Mounting Allegations from All Sides
The lawsuits don’t stop with Provo. Kanye West is also facing legal action from former Donda Academy teachers, ex-staff members, and two models who have accused him of sexual assault. His erratic online behavior, which has included inflammatory comments and allegations, continues to fuel public scrutiny.
With lawsuits mounting and legal representation shifting, West’s decision to delegate power of attorney to Bianca Censori may be a strategic move to protect his business interests. However, critics argue it may also be an attempt to deflect accountability as his legal troubles deepen.
