June 2, 2025: Bollywood saw a triple release on May 23, 2025, with high expectations riding on Bhool Chuk Maaf, Kapkapiii and Kesari Veer. While Bhool Chuk Maaf, led by Rajkummar Rao, has managed to make waves at the box office, the same can’t be said for its counterparts. Kapkapiii and Kesari Veer have turned out to be commercial disasters, recording some of the lowest collections of the year.

Despite garnering positive reviews and an impressive IMDb rating of 8.1, the Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade starrer Kapkapiii failed to draw in audiences. According to Sacnilk, even on its second Saturday, the film managed to collect a mere ₹2 lakh, taking its total Indian net to ₹1.43 crore and gross to ₹1.48 crore after 9 days.
📉 Kapkapiii Box Office Breakdown:
- Week 1: ₹1.38 crore
- Weekend 2 (2 days): ₹5 lakh
- Total (India Net): ₹1.43 crore
- Total (India Gross): ₹1.48 crore
Meanwhile, Kesari Veer, starring Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, and Sooraj Pancholi, also suffered a similar fate. Despite pre-release buzz, negative reviews from both critics and audiences ensured its downfall. On Day 9, the film added just ₹6 lakh, bringing its net total to ₹1.68 crore and gross to ₹1.98 crore.
📉 Kesari Veer Box Office Breakdown:
- Week 1: ₹1.55 crore
- Weekend 2: ₹13 lakh
- Total (India Net): ₹1.68 crore
- Total (India Gross): ₹1.98 crore
While Kesari Veer edges slightly ahead of Kapkapiii by roughly 5%, both films are undeniable box office flops. With the weekday footfalls dwindling further and Housefull 5 slated for a grand release on June 6, 2025, these films are expected to wrap up their theatrical runs soon.
🧾 Verdict:
- Kapkapiii holds the title for the lowest-grossing Bollywood release of 2025,
- Kesari Veer follows closely behind as the second-lowest,
- Both films have now been labeled box office disasters.
