December 14, 2024: Friday evening marked a memorable moment for cinephiles, as the long-awaited Raj Kapoor Centenary Film Festival kicked off in Mumbai, celebrating the legendary filmmaker’s 100th birth anniversary. The event was a tribute to one of Indian cinema’s greatest showmen, with his family coming together to honor his cinematic legacy.
The Kapoor family, known for their longstanding prominence in the Indian film industry, united at the opening night of the festival, posing for a family picture that captured the essence of their shared pride in Raj Kapoor’s achievements. The iconic image featured Randhir Kapoor, Rima Jain, Babita Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, and grandchildren Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. A few days before the festival, the Kapoor family had a significant meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi, where they discussed the upcoming celebrations. During the meeting, Kareena Kapoor shared heartwarming pictures of the family with PM Modi. A particularly touching moment was when Kareena requested an autograph from the Prime Minister for her sons, Taimur and Jeh. Modi graciously signed “Tim and Jeh” on a piece of paper, much to the delight of fans.
