Sharing his joy and humility, Johar took to Instagram to post a video of the momentous occasion, expressing his gratitude. “Humbled and Honoured to receive the Gold Legend Honor @goldhouseco’s Gold Gala in LA…” Johar captioned, underscoring his appreciation for the recognition.

Johar continued to laud his friend and co-founder of Gold House, Prabal Gurung, describing him as “a force of nature and a powerhouse of talent… always pushing boundaries and maintaining fashion relevance for the ages… everyday!!!!” In a touching tribute, Johar dedicated his award to his mother on Mother’s Day, reflecting on his 25-year career in filmmaking.
The gala, a nexus for Asian Pacific and multicultural leaders, also celebrated the 2024 A100 List, spotlighting 100 impactful changemakers, as reported by Variety. Notables such as Steven Yeun, Lucy Liu, and Bang Si-Hyuk graced the event, which also featured the iconic Hello Kitty.
This year’s Gold House Gala, themed “A Gold New World,” was held at the historic Music Center in downtown Los Angeles, envisioning a future built inclusively by all. The event’s creative direction was led by luxury brand fashion designer Prabal Gurung, marking a significant moment in celebrating Asian Pacific contributions to culture and society.
