Karan Johar, Khushi Kapoor, and Varun Dhawan Shine at ‘Kill’ Premiere

The premiere of the highly anticipated film ‘Kill’, starring Lakshya, turned into a star-studded affair with a host of celebrities gracing the event. The film, helmed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and produced by Karan Johar, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2023.

Among the notable attendees were Karan Johar, Khushi Kapoor, Raghav Juyal, Sanjay Kapoor, Ayan Mukerji, Sonam Bajwa, and many more. Karan Johar, surrounded by paparazzi, posed for the cameras, adding to the glamour of the night.

Actor Divyenndu Sharma was also seen at the event, while Abhishek Banerjee stunned in a black outfit. Tanya Maniktala looked gorgeous in red, and Aditya Roy Kapur made a stylish appearance. Akshay Oberoi impressed everyone with his look, and Sanjay Kapoor was among the notable guests.

Sonam Bajwa turned heads in her bodycon dress, and Khushi Kapoor captivated attention with her look and smile. Other celebrities in attendance included Guneet Monga, Mouni Roy with her husband, Lakshay, Rohit Saraf, Sanya Malhotra, Sunny Hinduja, Angad Bedi, Neha Dhupia, and Kritika Kamra. Actor Varun Dhawan was also spotted at the premiere.

In a recent development, Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment, the production companies behind the renowned ‘John Wick’ franchise, announced plans to develop an English-language remake of the Indian action thriller ‘Kill’. The original film, which premiered at TIFF’s Midnight Madness section and featured at the Tribeca Film Festival, tells the gripping story of army commando Amrit (portrayed by Lakshya) racing against time on a New Delhi-bound train to rescue his beloved Tulika (played by Tanya Maniktala).

Chad Stahelski, Jason Spitz, and Alex Young of 87Eleven Entertainment will helm the remake, drawn by the original film’s intense action sequences and compelling narrative. “Nikhil delivers relentless action sequences that need to be seen by as wide an audience as possible,” Stahelski commented. “It’s exciting to be developing an English-language version–we have big shoes to fill.”

The original film’s cast, led by Lakshya and supported by Raghav Juyal and Tanya Maniktala, has garnered praise for their performances, especially in the film’s adrenaline-pumping action sequences set against the backdrop of a tense train journey. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and produced by prominent Indian filmmakers including Karan Johar, the Hindi-language original is set for release in India on July 5, 2024.
