Karan Johar Opens Up About Fears of Raising Kids as a Single Parent: 'I Will Have to Be Answerable'
November 4, 2024: Karan Johar, Bollywood’s renowned filmmaker and father to twins Yash and Roohi, recently shared his anxieties about raising his children as a single parent. During an episode of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, Karan expressed his concerns about the day his kids will learn about his single parenthood and the questions he might have to answer.
Karan’s revelation was prompted by a conversation with actress Neelam Kothari, who shared her own experience. Neelam recounted the moment when her daughter, Ahana, discovered her past divorce from Rishabh Sethia through an online search. The incident left her surprised, highlighting how accessible information is in today’s digital age. Reflecting on this, Karan said, “They will find out things, and I will have to be answerable. Being a single parent, I know I am answerable to my children about so many aspects. Thank you for sharing that, Neelam. It was really beautiful.”
Karan welcomed his twins, Yash and Roohi, via surrogacy in 2017, with the support of his mother, Hiroo Johar, who plays an active role in their lives. Over the years, Karan has received parenting advice and support from close friends, including Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor Khan, as he has shared on Koffee With Karan.
This season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives features Neelam Kothari, Seema Sajdeh, Maheep Kapoor, and Bhavana Pandey. New additions include Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Kalyani Chawla, and Shalini Passi, with Shalini quickly gaining popularity among fans.
