Karan Johar Unveils Poster of Homebound Starring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa & Janhvi Kapoor Ahead Of Cannes Premiere

May 14, 2025 : With the Cannes Film Festival just around the corner, filmmaker Karan Johar on Wednesday unveiled the first poster of Homebound, a film starring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor. The film is all set to premiere on May 21, 2025, in the prestigious ‘Un Certain Regard’ section of the festival.

Sharing the poster on Instagram, Johar wrote, “Some bonds carry us through. Presenting the first poster for HOMEBOUND, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and starring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor. Premieres at the Cannes Film Festival on 21st May 2025.”

The film is helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan, making a poignant return to Cannes after his debut film Masaan received accolades in the same category in 2015. Homebound continues his tradition of emotionally resonant cinema and is expected to draw international attention at the festival.

In a major coup for Indian cinema, legendary director Martin Scorsese has joined the project as an executive producer, lending the film significant global visibility.

Produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra, Homebound also has Marijke de Souza and Melita Toscan Du Plantier as co-producers.

Alongside Homebound, other Indian films including Satyajit Ray’s classic Aranyer Din Ratri and Anupam Kher’s directorial Tanvi The Great are also set to be screened at Cannes, making 2025 a strong year for Indian representation at the festival.
