December 8, 2024: Karan Johar’s mother, Hiroo Johar, was recently admitted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. A video shared by a paparazzo shows Karan Johar visiting the hospital on Saturday alongside his close friend and celebrity designer, Manish Malhotra. According to reports, Hiroo Johar was admitted on Friday.
The accompanying caption on the video assured fans that there is no cause for concern. It read: “A family member assures us there is no cause for alarm. We extend our best wishes for her swift recovery.”
Hiroo Johar, 81, has played an instrumental role in Dharma Productions, serving as a producer for several projects. She is also cherished for her loving bond with Karan Johar’s children, Yash and Roohi, often featured in his social media posts.
In 2021, Hiroo underwent two significant medical procedures within an eight-month period — spinal fusion surgery and a right knee replacement. At the time, Karan Johar shared updates about her recovery with his followers on Instagram.
