Kareena Kapoor Breaks Silence On Saif Ali Khan’s Stabbing

June 30, 2025: In her first candid interview since the horrific stabbing of husband Saif Ali Khan earlier this year, Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor has opened up about the emotional turmoil and trauma her family has endured. Speaking to journalist Barkha Dutt on Mojo Story, Kareena reflected on the January 16 attack that left Saif with multiple injuries and shook their entire household.

The Shocking Incident

In the early hours of January 16, 2025, Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times at his Mumbai residence by an unidentified assailant. The brutal attack caused injuries to his spine, neck, and hands, requiring a 2.5-hour neurosurgery and plastic surgery at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital. At the time, Kareena and their younger son Jeh were present in the home, making the traumatic experience even more personal.

Kareena Kapoor: “Still Haven’t Come to Terms With It”

In the emotional interview, Kareena admitted the family is still grappling with the aftermath. “We still haven’t come to terms with it 100%, at least I haven’t,” she confessed. “I was very anxious in the first couple of months and it was difficult to sleep, get back to normalcy.”

Describing the lingering emotional impact, she said, “It’s like death — when you lose someone, you never really get over it. The memory fades day by day and that’s when the healing sets in.”

On Motherhood, Resilience, and Family Strength

Balancing the roles of wife and mother amid a violent crisis proved especially challenging. Kareena explained, “It’s wrong to put that stress on the children. It’s been a tough journey, from anxiety to trying to maintain balance — being a mother and also a wife whose husband was attacked.”

Despite the ordeal, Kareena said the incident has helped strengthen their family unit and build resilience in their children. She shared a touching anecdote: “My little one still says, ‘My father is Iron Man and he can take over anyone.’ So, in our eyes, Saif is Iron-Man.”

Looking Ahead

Kareena expressed gratitude for Saif’s recovery and her family’s support network, calling herself “happy, blessed, and thankful to God.” She also hopes that the traumatic event will teach their sons valuable lessons about strength and compassion, stating, “Trauma will make them a different kind of man.”

The interview has struck a chord with fans and the public alike, offering a rare and heartfelt glimpse into how a celebrity family processes personal tragedy — and begins to heal.
