March 28, 2025: Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor captivated the audience as the showstopper for Satya Paul’s collection at the Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI on Thursday.
The actress turned heads as she walked the ramp in a stunning monochrome belted sari, showcasing her graceful elegance. Karisma, known for her iconic roles in films like Raja Hindustani, shared her excitement about the collaboration with Satya Paul, stating, “I love Satya Paul’s work… aap sabko pata hai mujhe sari bahut pasand hai, black and white bahut pasand hai,” expressing her love for saris and the black-and-white color combination.
The collection, titled Alchemy, presented by Lakme Salon in collaboration with Satya Paul, was designed with the modern woman in mind. It featured a range of flowing kaftans, dresses, and vibrant tunics, all exuding effortless elegance. The collection’s emphasis was on transformation, with luxurious fabrics such as linen, crepe, satin, organza, and chiffon, paired with intricate glass bugle and sequin embroidery, creating a stunning visual appeal. The Satya Paul collection also showcased signature leather-bound handbags that added a burst of color, complementing the designs.
Creative directors David Abraham, Kevin Nigli, and Rakesh Thakore drew inspiration from mid-century American modernists, such as Ellsworth Kelly and Henri Matisse, adding a bold artistic expression to the collection. Lakme Salon’s runway looks, inspired by the changing hues of the day, reflected shades from dusk to sunshine, enhancing the overall transformation.
Held at the Jio World Convention Centre, the Alchemy show was a beautiful blend of art, elegance, and creativity, marking a remarkable moment in the fashion world.
