The legal battle over the superstar’s estate continues as his long-time companion alleges that his family abandoned him but inherited his entire wealth. She claims she was denied a last farewell and warns that karma will eventually take its toll.

August 22, 2025: Anita Advani, who was romantically associated to the famous actor Rajesh Khanna, says that his family left him during his last tough years and then got all of his money. Advani cautioned the family about the effects of “karma” in a review of the show “REEL Meet REAL.” She is still fighting in court for a piece of his legacy.

A life of fame and being alone

Advani remembered how “heartbreaking” it was in 1982 when his wife, actress Dimple Kapadia, left him. She said that for thirty years, Khanna “lost everything” and was “stuck—no divorce, no resolution.” Kapadia did come back to take care of him during his last illness, but Advani said that by the time talks regarding his estate started, “Everything went absolutely out of control… But the family ended up with all of his things. That alone is a big story.

Rajesh Khanna, who was India’s first superstar, was very famous yet eventually ended himself alone. He married Dimple Kapadia in 1973, but their marriage was not smooth, and they broke up in 1982 without ever getting a divorce. People say that in his last years, he lived alone at his Mumbai home, Aashirwad.

A fight in court and a warning about karma

Advani is still fighting in court for a part of Khanna’s estate. She said that a recent Supreme Court declaration makes it seem like an earlier decision against her “holds no weight.” She also said, “No one can take anything with them after they go.” Why cheat this way? Respect is important in every relationship. Karma comes back on its own.

Rajesh Khanna died on July 18, 2012, at the age of 69, following a long illness. His death ended an era in Indian cinema, and he left behind a complicated personal and creative legacy.
