Kartik Aaryan Trolled for Recreating Salman Khan’s ‘Saajanji Ghar Aaye’

After the ‘Saat Samundar’ backlash, social media erupts as Kartik Aaryan attempts to match Salman’s swag in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.

Just as the beats of the Saat Samundar Paar remake were beginning to settle, Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday have found themselves in the eye of a new social media storm. Their Christmas release, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri (TMMTMTTM), which hit theaters today, December 25, 2025, features a recreation of Salman Khan’s iconic wedding anthem, Saajanji Ghar Aaye.

The Sequence: A Tribute or a Misfit?

In a lavish wedding sequence within the film, Kartik Aaryan makes a grand entry to the familiar tune of the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) classic. Dressed in traditional attire, he is soon joined by Ananya Panday for a coordinated dance performance.

The Original: Picturized on Salman Khan and Kajol, the original song is remembered for Salman’s effortless “swag” and the playful chemistry of the 90s era.

The Remake: While the film’s version keeps the core melody, it has been modernized with high-energy choreography, which netizens are calling “forced” and “manufactured.”

Internet Reactions: “Bhai is Unmatched”

Comparison videos began trending on X (formerly Twitter) within hours of the first morning shows, with Salman Khan fans leading the charge against the remake.

The VerdictNetizen Quote
Swag Factor“#KartikAaryan please stop ruining iconic songs. You can’t match 1% of Salman Khan’s persona.”
Remake Fatigue“Every movie has a remake now. It’s annoying. Only Salman Khan could carry this.”
Reality Check“Beta tum se na ho payega… Bhai ki baat hi alag hai (Son, you won’t be able to do it. Bhai is something else).”

Many users even suggested that veteran stars like Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan should seek copyright protections for their signature tracks to prevent “low-quality” modern renditions.

About the Film: Scenic but Stale?

Directed by Sameer Vidwans and produced by Karan Johar, the film follows the story of Rehaan (Kartik) and Rumi (Ananya), whose Mediterranean romance in Croatia hits a roadblock due to family values in India.

  • The Cast: Alongside the lead pair, the film features Jackie Shroff as Rumi’s retired army officer father and Neena Gupta as Ray’s “cool” single mother.
  • Critics’ Take: Reviews have been mixed to lukewarm. While some praised the visual scale and the emotional second half, others called it a “scenic postcard with no message.”
  • Box Office: Early reports from Sacnilk suggest a shaky start with an opening collection of approximately ₹1.30 crore, largely due to the massive “Dhurandhar” wave currently dominating the box office.
