February 9, 2025: At the 30th Critics Choice Awards, Indian designers once again made a significant impact on the red carpet, with Hollywood actress Kate Hudson stealing the spotlight with her bold fashion choices.
Hudson stunned onlookers by wearing a pair of statement earrings and The Bengal Tiger ring from Indian designer Sabyasachi’s High Jewellery collection. Known for her elegance and daring style, Hudson paired the intricate jewellery with a striking black silk faille dress from Thom Browne. The backless gown featured a dramatic silk satin bow detail, adding an extra touch of sophistication to her red-carpet look.
While the fashion world was buzzing over her glamorous appearance, Hudson also took the opportunity to reflect on a more personal matter during her time at the event. Speaking to E! News on the red carpet, Hudson shared her thoughts on the recent wildfires that ravaged the Pacific Palisades, the community she calls home. “I grew up in the [Pacific] Palisades,” she said, adding that the devastation was something she never imagined experiencing. However, Hudson found comfort in the relief efforts from the people of Los Angeles, stating, “People who live in Los Angeles, we love Los Angeles, and everyone’s just risen to the occasion.”
Hudson’s sister-in-law, Meredith Hagner, who joined her at the event, also shared a moving story of community resilience, saying, “My canyon was literally saved by neighbours patrolling people’s houses,” highlighting the incredible solidarity that emerged during the crisis.
Despite her home being spared from the flames, Hudson has been deeply affected by the destruction. She previously expressed her gratitude for her family’s safety on Instagram, writing, “Long road ahead but so grateful for all of your love and kindness,” acknowledging the emotional toll of the disaster.
Amid these challenging times, Hudson also shared her excitement for her upcoming Netflix project, Running Point, which is set to premiere on February 27. Her enthusiasm for the new comedy was evident as she spoke to E! News, offering a glimpse of the exciting career moments ahead.
