Kate Middleton Poised for Glamorous Tiara Return as King Charles Hosts President Macron at Windsor

May 13, 2025: Kate Middleton is expected to make a sparkling return to the royal spotlight this summer, as King Charles III prepares to host French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron for an official state visit to the United Kingdom. The visit, confirmed by Buckingham Palace on May 13, is scheduled to take place from July 8 to 10, 2025.

With Windsor Castle set as the base for the French delegation — due to ongoing renovations at Buckingham Palace — all eyes will be on the expected state banquet, where royal tradition often dictates a formal display of regalia, including tiaras. This means that both Princess Kate and Queen Camilla may grace the evening in full royal finery.

The palace statement read:
“The President of the French Republic, His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, accompanied by Mrs. Brigitte Macron, has accepted an invitation from His Majesty The King to pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom from Tuesday 8th July to Thursday 10th July 2025. The President and Mrs. Macron will stay at Windsor Castle.”

Although official details of the visit remain under wraps, it’s anticipated that Prince William and Princess Kate, both central figures in the royal family, will play key roles in hosting the French dignitaries.

This upcoming appearance marks a highly anticipated moment for the Princess of Wales, who missed the last state banquet in December 2024 — held in honor of the Amir of Qatar — as she continued her recovery from cancer treatment. She did, however, participate in the daytime portion of that visit.

President Macron’s visit follows King Charles and Queen Camilla’s first official overseas tour post-coronation, which included stops in France and Germany in September 2023. The last time a French president made a state visit to the UK was in March 2008, when President Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni were hosted by the late Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle.
