Katie Holmes Debunks Reports of Suri Cruise's Trust Fund: "Enough"
Katie Holmes has spoken out against recent reports claiming her daughter, Suri Cruise, became a millionaire at 18 after accessing a trust fund set up by her estranged father, Hollywood star Tom Cruise. The actress, known for fiercely protecting her daughter from media scrutiny, has labeled the reports as baseless and expressed her frustration.
On December 8, the Dawson’s Creek star took to Instagram to refute a Daily Mail article alleging that her daughter’s trust fund from Tom Cruise had “kicked in.” The article suggested Suri had also received additional funds from a separate trust Holmes had set up for her.
Sharing a screenshot of the article’s headline, Holmes wrote, “Daily Mail, you can stop making stuff up.” In the caption, she added, “Enough,” dismissing the claims as entirely false.
Suri Cruise, who turned 18 earlier this year, began attending Carnegie Mellon University in August. Photos of Katie Holmes helping Suri settle into her dorm made headlines, showcasing the strong bond between the mother-daughter duo.
The Daily Mail had previously reported that the trust fund was part of Holmes and Cruise’s divorce settlement and designed to release funds incrementally to avoid overwhelming Suri. However, Holmes’ latest statement makes it clear that such claims hold no truth.
Since Holmes and Cruise’s high-profile split in 2012, Suri has been primarily raised by her mother in New York City. Known for her striking resemblance to Holmes and a sharp sense of style, Suri has largely remained out of the public eye, thanks to Holmes’ conscious efforts to shield her from media attention.
In a 2023 interview with Glamour, Holmes reflected on parenting Suri, saying, “What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her. I’m very grateful to be her parent. She’s an incredible person.”
Suri has already showcased her talent in the entertainment world. She contributed to the soundtrack of Holmes’ film Rare Objects and previously lent her voice to Alone Together, another of Holmes’ directorial projects.
While father-daughter updates regarding Tom and Suri remain sparse, Holmes continues to focus on raising her daughter in a supportive and creative environment, away from the noise of media speculation.
