Kay Kay Menon Returns to the Underworld in New Series ‘Murshid’

After captivating audiences in Shekhar Home, actor Kay Kay Menon is back with a gripping new series, Murshid. Slated to premiere on August 30 on ZEE5, this intense gangster drama promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

The newly released trailer dives deep into the dark underbelly of Mumbai’s underworld. Menon stars as Murshid Pathan, a retired don who is reluctantly pulled back into the world he thought he had left behind. The story unfolds when his former adversary, Farid, played by Zakir Hussain, entangles Murshid’s son in a dangerous plot. As Murshid struggles to protect his family and legacy, he finds himself being pursued by Inspector Kumar Pratap Rana, his adopted son, portrayed by Tanuj Virwani. Additionally, the ambitious politician Jayendra, played by Rajesh Shringarpure, manipulates events to serve his own interests.

Reflecting on his role, Kay Kay Menon shared, “Playing Murshid Pathan in this intense gangster thriller was truly exciting for me. I’ve always been drawn to complex characters, and Murshid is exactly that—a former don turned philanthropist, pulled back into the underworld to protect his family. Zakir Hussain, who portrays the antagonist Farid, added, “This character is a powder keg of ambition and aggression, constantly pushing the boundaries of power in Mumbai’s underworld.
