"Keep Looking!" – Neeraj Pandey Hints at Sourav Ganguly’s Cameo in ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’
Kolkata, March 6 – Is former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly making a surprise appearance in Netflix’s upcoming crime drama ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’? If filmmaker Neeraj Pandey’s response at the trailer launch is any indication, fans may want to keep their eyes peeled.
When asked about the rumors of Ganguly’s cameo in the much-anticipated series, Pandey did not confirm or deny the speculation but left the audience intrigued with a playful remark.
“As far as Sourav is concerned… keep looking,” he said with a chuckle, leaving fans excited about a potential special appearance by the cricketing legend.
Beyond the speculation, Pandey revealed a deeper reason for choosing Kolkata as the backdrop for ‘Khakee’s’ latest chapter—his personal connection to the city.
“I was born and brought up in Kolkata. This played an important role in me choosing Kolkata for the second chapter in the series… there was a personal bias,” he shared.
Unlike its predecessor, ‘Khakee: The Bihar Chapter’ (2022), which was set in Bihar, this latest installment dives into Kolkata’s crime-ridden past in the early 2000s, focusing on an IPS officer’s fight against corruption, crime, and political power struggles.
The series boasts an all-Bengali ensemble cast, featuring some of the biggest names in Bengali cinema, including:
Directed by Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray, the crime thriller is co-written by Neeraj Pandey, Debatma Mandal, and Samrat Chakraborty. The trailer showcases an intense battle between law enforcement and those in power, promising a gripping narrative that stays true to Pandey’s signature storytelling style.
The much-anticipated crime drama ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’ will premiere exclusively on Netflix on March 20.
While fans gear up for this high-stakes thriller, the big question remains—will Sourav Ganguly make a special appearance? Only time will tell, but for now, as Pandey says, “keep looking.”
