Kelly Clarkson sings Miley Cyrus’ song ‘Used to Be Young’ on her show

During the Kellyoke segment of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” American singer-songwriter and author Kelly Clarkson showcased her powerful vocals over the contemplative lyrics of Miley Cyrus’s hit song “Used to Be Young,” in a heartfelt performance, as reported by People. Clarkson, 41, sang, “I know I used to be crazy/I know I used to be fun/You say I used to be wild/I say I used to be young,” as she wore a basic grey jumper, a black leather skirt and black heels.

According to People, in the comments section of the clip on YouTube, both longtime and new fans complimented the American Idol alum’s strong vocal performance. Even if Kelly sang the entire alphabet, I would still stop and pay attention. Recently, I’ve developed a serious affection for Kelly. I listen to playlists featuring her covers all day long. She is really beautiful,” a fan commented. She plays every note flawlessly and has such mastery over her instrument. Love her,” said a different admirer. Clarkson performed the Frasier theme tune with Kelsey Grammer this week, as well as The Bangles’ “Eternal Flame” on the NBC talk show’s Kellyoke section.

A decade after dropping her No. 1 hit “Wrecking Ball” and giving a contentious performance at the MTV VMAs alongside Robin Thicke, Cyrus, 31, released “Used to Be Young” in August 2023. She considers how she’s changed over time and looks back on her partying days in the song’s lyrics. Not just Clarkson is a well-known figure connected to “Used to Be Young.” In honour of her 78th birthday, Diane Keaton uploaded a video of herself singing the song to Instagram last week.

Cyrus was immediately drawn to the video featuring the actress from “The First Wives Club.” The singer of “Flowers” replied with a red heart emoji, “I love you so much.” It was Keaton’s second video with “Used to Be Young,” as soon after the song’s release, she posted a slideshow of pictures from her childhood. Cyrus at the time left a considerate remark in response to the post. She wrote, “You have my sincere gratitude.” “I made this song because I find it to be very moving.” “All I want is Diane Keaton to dance to it,” I said during the course of writing it over the past 18 months, and this is even more magical. I cherish you. I’m grateful,” People stated.
