Kesari 2 Advance Booking: Akshay Kumar’s Courtroom Drama Off to Decent Start, Sells 6,000 Tickets Ahead of Release
April 16, 2025 | Akshay Kumar’s much-anticipated period drama Kesari Chapter 2 has begun its box office journey with a decent advance booking start, having sold 6,000 tickets across PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis for Day 1, as per data recorded at 6 PM on April 16.
Slated for a theatrical release on April 18, the film also stars R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday, and is directed by debutant Karan Singh Tyagi. Unlike its action-heavy predecessor, Kesari 2 is an intense A-rated courtroom drama inspired by the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, and comes with no songs or action set pieces—a bold shift in tone.
“The trailer was received positively, and now all eyes are on whether the strong buzz translates into solid box office numbers,” trade experts noted.
With promising early trends and a socially charged narrative, Kesari 2 could become one of Akshay Kumar’s stronger openers in recent times, especially if positive word-of-mouth kicks in post-release.
