Kesari 2 First Look: Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday & R Madhavan Unveil a Powerful Tale of Justice and History

The much-awaited sequel dives into the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, with Akshay Kumar as C. Sankaran Nair, Ananya Panday as a fierce lawyer, and R. Madhavan in a complex antagonist role.

Mumbai, March 28: The anticipation around ‘Kesari 2’ has reached fever pitch as the makers unveiled the first look of lead stars Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R Madhavan on Friday. The historical drama, directed by Anurag Singh, is set to hit theatres worldwide on April 18.

Taking forward the legacy of the 2019 blockbuster ‘Kesari’, which focused on the Battle of Saragarhi, ‘Kesari: Chapter 2’ delves into the untold story of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre — one of the darkest chapters in India’s colonial history.

🎭 Power-Packed Performances on the Horizon

Ananya Panday, seen for the first time in a serious legal role, is introduced as Dilreet Gill, a lawyer determined to bring the truth to light. Her voiceover in the teaser — “Uss din Jallianwala Bagh mein jo hua, uska sach puri duniya ko pata chalna chahiye” — sets the tone for a gripping courtroom and historical drama.

Meanwhile, R Madhavan plays the sharp and formidable Neville McKinley, a character “playing for the other side,” suggesting a layered antagonist deeply rooted in the British regime.

Akshay Kumar, who played a brave Sikh soldier in the first part, now transforms into legendary advocate C. Sankaran Nair, a pivotal figure in India’s freedom struggle who fought relentlessly for justice after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

🎥 A Bold Narrative

Produced by Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films, ‘Kesari 2’ promises an emotional, intense, and historically rich cinematic experience. The film aims to shine a spotlight on those who challenged the colonial powers with law and courage, bringing forgotten heroes into the limelight.

With a powerful star cast, emotionally charged storyline, and grand visuals, Kesari: Chapter 2 is poised to be one of the most impactful films of the year.
