Kesari 2 vs Jaat vs Sikandar: Akshay Kumar, Sunny Deol, Salman Khan Films Lock Horns at Box Office – Here's Who Leads
April 20, 2025: Bollywood’s summer box office battle is heating up with three major films—Kesari Chapter 2, Jaat, and Sikandar—vying for the audience’s attention and rupees. While Kesari 2 and Jaat continue their neck-and-neck domestic race, Sikandar has stormed past the ₹100 crore worldwide milestone.
Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2, based on The Case That Shook the Empire, earned a solid ₹9.50 crore on Saturday, following ₹7.75 crore on Friday, bringing its two-day total to ₹17.25 crore in India.
The courtroom drama, set in the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, benefited from strong evening show occupancy at 26.83%, aided by positive word-of-mouth and a strong northern pull.
Jaat, starring Sunny Deol and directed by Gopichand Malineni, earned ₹7 crore on Day 2, taking its India total to ₹16.5 crore. Backed by Mythri Movie Makers, the production house behind Pushpa, the film also features Randeep Hooda, Saiyami Kher, and Ramya Krishnan in key roles. Despite stiff competition, Jaat is holding firm, especially in single screens and tier-2 cities.
Salman Khan’s action-packed entertainer Sikandar, helmed by AR Murugadoss, has zoomed ahead of the competition in global earnings.
With support from Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, and Prateik Babbar, Sikandar has surpassed the Day 2 worldwide performance of Chhaava, marking a strong run across multiplex chains and overseas markets.
