Kevin Spacey Resurrects Frank Underwood in Bold Promo for Tim Dillon’s Netflix Special

In a controversial return, Spacey’s infamous ‘House of Cards’ character reappears in a promo for “I’m Your Mother,” sparking reactions across the internet

Los Angeles, April 16: In a move that’s as shocking as it is darkly comic, Kevin Spacey has reprised his notorious “House of Cards” role, Frank Underwood, in a promo video for comedian Tim Dillon’s upcoming Netflix special, “I’m Your Mother.”

In the video, Spacey’s Underwood delivers a venomous monologue directed at Dillon and the modern podcasting world:

“You podcasters think you’ve inherited the kingdom… when in fact, you’re nothing but a bunch of clowns juggling boner pills and hair tonic.”

Dillon, playing along in his signature satirical style, responds:

“Frank Underwood? I thought you were dead.”
To which Spacey retorts, “I’m as dead as John McCain.”

The exchange only grows more unhinged as Underwood attempts to blackmail Dillon with DoorDash receipts and compromising photos, only to be told that nothing can be used as leverage in the internet age:

“We don’t have blackmail. We have content,” Dillon replies.

The bizarre cameo ends with Spacey’s Underwood calling Dillon a “foul, lonesome, evil little cockroach” after learning his special is airing on Netflix — the very platform that fired Spacey in 2017 amid multiple sexual assault allegations.

A Comeback Cloaked in Satire

Spacey’s return in character — five years after being removed from House of Cards — marks his first major appearance linked to the streaming platform since a 2022 court ruling ordered him to pay $31 million to the show’s production company MRC for alleged misconduct. That sum was later reduced to $1 million in 2024.

Netflix has declined to comment on the promo or its connection to the special, raising speculation about whether Spacey’s appearance was authorized or simply part of Dillon’s shock-humor campaign.

Internet Reacts to the Resurrection

Within hours of release, the video lit up social media, with reactions ranging from outrage to intrigue. Some praised the meta-commentary on power, redemption, and media culture, while others criticized the use of a disgraced actor for viral marketing.

As controversy swirls, Tim Dillon’s “I’m Your Mother” prepares for its release on Netflix, now under a larger spotlight than ever — thanks to the ghost of Frank Underwood.
