
'Khakee: The Bengal Chapter': Chitrangda Singh, Ritwik Bhowmik, Aadil Khan Discuss Their Roles
March 22, 2025: The much-awaited crime drama Khakee: The Bengal Chapter has premiered on Netflix, delivering an intense and captivating story set in early 2000s Kolkata. Directed by Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray, this follow-up to Khakee: The Bihar Chapter (2022) brings a new, riveting chapter of crime, power, and law enforcement.
The series boasts an ensemble cast of Bengali cinema legends, including Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jeet, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, and Saswata Chatterjee. Lead actors Chitrangda Singh, Ritwik Bhowmik, and Aadil Khan opened up about their roles and the experiences they encountered while working on this gripping project.
Chitrangda Singh, portraying Nibedita, spoke about her fascination with her character, saying, “I was instantly in love with Nibedita. Emotionally complex roles where strengths, weaknesses, love, and pain intertwine are what intrigue me the most. When I first heard about Nibedita, I knew I had to play her.” She also reflected on how being a mother has enhanced her emotional maturity, enriching her as an actor.
Ritwik Bhowmik, who plays Sagor, shared the transformative journey of taking on the role, saying, “It’s a journey from singing to playing. I hope the audience appreciates this new shade of mine.” He also highlighted the camaraderie on set, which made the experience even more special.
Aadil Khan, who portrays Ranjit, offered valuable advice to aspiring actors, emphasizing the importance of true passion for the craft. He explained, “If you genuinely love acting, every moment will be worth it.”
In addition to its exceptional cast, Khakee: The Bengal Chapter introduces a unique aspect—its all-Bengali star cast in a Hindi-language series. The collaboration between Bengali superstars Jeet and Prosenjit Chatterjee marks a landmark moment in the series, with Jeet playing an IPS officer and Prosenjit portraying a powerful politician.
The series dives deep into themes of crime, corruption, and political influence, featuring a determined police officer’s quest for justice.
