Kieran Culkin wins Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for ‘Succession’: 75th Emmys

A lot of people watch both “Succession” and “Beef,” and they are both fighting for the most awards at the 75th Emmys.

The award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series goes to Kieran Culkin for his role in “Succession.”

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Television Academy shared a post and wrote, “Congrats to Kieran Culkin who wins the #Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for @Succession ( @HBO / @streamonmax)! #Emmys #75thEmmys.”

The award show is happening right now at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. It was supposed to be September 2023 for the 75th Emmys, but the strikes in Hollywood pushed the date back.

‘Succession’ won the Emmys earlier today for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Outstanding Directing for Drama Series, Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. The three most listed shows of the year are “Succession,” “The Last of Us,” and “The White Lotus.”

This year’s Emmy nominations are led by “Succession,” which has 27. This includes best drama, lead actress (Sarah Snook), and a record three lead actor votes for Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, and Jeremy Strong. With 24 nominations, “The Last of Us” was the first video game version to get a lot of attention from the Emmys. Season 2 of “The White Lotus,” which is now a drama series but was a limited series last year, came in second with 23 nominations.

There were 27 nominations for the last season of “Succession.” Three of those were for best character in a drama, which is a record.

On the first season of “Succession,” which came out in 2018, Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Alan Ruck, Matthew Macfadyen, Nicholas Braun, and J. Smith-Cameron were all hired. Armstrong created the show and is also one of its executive producers. Other producers are Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche, Scott Ferguson, Jon Brown, Lucy Prebble, Will Tracy, and Will Ferrell.
