Global celebrity Kim Kardashian and her sister Khloé Kardashian attended the extravagant wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in July 2024, marking one of the most talked-about events of the year. However, in a recent episode of their reality show, The Kardashians, Kim made a surprising revelation—she didn’t personally know the Ambanis before attending the wedding and accepted the invitation “on a whim.”

Kim’s Unplanned Trip to India

In the episode, Kim candidly shared, “I actually don’t know the Ambanis. We definitely have friends in common.” She explained that jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, who has worked closely with the Ambanis, extended the invitation on their behalf.

“Lorraine Schwartz is one of our good friends. She is a jeweler. She does jewelry for the Ambani family. She told me she was going to their wedding, and they would love to invite us. We just went on a whim and said ‘sure,’” Kim recalled.

The Jaw-Dropping 18kg Invitation

Kim and Khloé also reflected on the grandeur of the wedding invitation they received.

“Even the invitation that we received was 40-50 pounds (18-22 kgs), and it had music coming out of it,” Khloé shared, adding, “It was crazy! When we saw the invitation, we thought, ‘You don’t say no to something like this.’”

Inside the Grand Ambani Wedding

The Ambani-Merchant wedding festivities kicked off in March 2024 in Jamnagar, Gujarat, featuring performances by Rihanna, Diljit Dosanjh, Akon, and even a special dance sequence by Bollywood’s Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan.

Following this, the Ambanis hosted an opulent European cruise tour, bringing together the biggest names from Bollywood and global entertainment. In July 2024, the final wedding celebrations in Mumbai featured a performance by Justin Bieber, alongside Indian music icons Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal.
