Kingdom Box Office Collection Day-1: Vijay Deverakonda Starrer Collects This Much, But is it his Best Opening Yet?

Vijay Deverakonda’s latest flick, a spy thriller, ‘Kingdom,’ has garnered a strong opening at the box office, collecting Rs 15.50 crore on its first day.

New Delhi August-1, 2025: Super Star Vijay Deverakonda’s much-anticipated spy action thriller ‘Kingdom’ hit the big screens on July 31.

Day-1, that is Thursday, proved to be good for the movie after positive reviews and Deverakonda’s huge fan base. The film earned Rs 15.50 crore according to Sachnik.

This is one of the best openings for a Deverakonda, though it doesn’t surpass the Rs 16 crore opening of his 2022 release ‘Liger’, which turned out to be a box office failure, it is still ahead of his 2023 romantic drama ‘Kushi’, which managed Rs 15.25 crore on Day 1.

In comparison to several mid-range releases this year, ‘Kingdom’ looks to be on a good pace, as the film proceeds towards the weekend.

Language wise performance:

As it is a Telugu film, language wise, its Telugu version performed the best on Day-1 beating the Tamil version by a long margin.

Theatre occupancy

The film’s Telugu version had a strong occupancy rate across the board on release day. As per trade reports, the overall Telugu occupancy stood at 57.87%.

Morning shows had an impressive 63.56% turnout, followed by 56.52% in the afternoon, 50.12% in the evening, and picking up again to 61.27% at night.

The Tamil version, on the other hand, recorded a relatively modest 19.07% occupancy, with night shows registering the highest at 29.28%.

About the film

Directed by ‘Jersey’ fame Gowtam Tinnanuri, ‘Kingdom’ brings Vijay Deverakonda into the world of espionage and national duty. He plays a constable who goes undercover for a high-stakes covert mission. The film also stars Bhagyashri Borse, Satya Dev, and Ayyappa P Sharma in key roles. Anirudh Ravichander’s pulsating score has been one of the major highlights of the film. His music and background score have been appreciated for elevating key moments and contributing heavily to the overall cinematic experience.
