However, a screening at Cinepolis Centre Square Mall in Kochi took a bizarre turn, leaving audiences both confused and amused.
In an unusual incident, the 6:30 pm show on Friday began with the second half of the film, bypassing the first half entirely. According to reports, some audience members initially assumed the movie’s unusual sequence was part of its narrative style, given the current trend of non-linear storytelling. It wasn’t until the end credits rolled during what they thought was the “interval” that the audience realized the mistake.
Audience Demands Refunds and Rescreening
The blunder sparked mixed reactions from viewers. While some demanded a refund for the unexpected disruption, others urged the management to show the first half of the film. In response, Cinepolis management agreed to screen the first half at 9 pm for the handful of audience members who stayed back. They also promised refunds to disappointed patrons.
Adding to the humor of the situation, a viewer reportedly quipped, “With all these non-linear movies these days, it’s hard to tell if Pushpa 2 was intentionally this way or not until the intermission!”
