In the latest episode of “Koffee with Karan 8” on Disney+Hotstar where Zeenat Aman made an appearance with Neetu Kapoor. They talked about old times with host Karan Johar as they talked about their busy work lives, co-stars, marriage, parenting, and even grandmotherhood.

During the interesting rapid-fire part, Karan then asked Zeenat who she thought would be the best actress to play Rupa in the follow up to Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978). She changed her name right away to Deepika Padukone. “Satyam Shivam Sundaram” is a love drama movie from 1978 that was written and directed by Raj Kapoor. The main actors were Shashi Kapoor and Zeenat Aman. In the movie, she had a scarred face when she played Rupa.

During the show, Zeenat talked about how she got the part in Raj Kapoor’s famous but controversial movie. Zeenat Aman remembered, “I didn’t think he would even think of putting me in this kind of role (Varuna).” Because her dad is a priest. Esel Studios, which is on the way to RK Studios, is where we shot one day. “After getting my things together, I dressed up in what I thought Raj Kapoor would think of Rupa.” As for how she got ready for the part, she said, “With tissue paper on my face.” Makeup, choti (braid), and ghagra-choli. In the end, I went to RK Studios. John, he had this man on Friday. Then I told John, “Tell Sir that Rupa has arrived.” What did he say, Rupa? What is Rupa? Then Raj Kapoor told me to come into his house, so I did. “Then he was shocked,” Zeenat Aman remembered. That evening, Zeenat Aman told Krishna Raj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor’s wife, what Raj Kapoor had said. “He said this girl is a big star.” This is not necessary for her. I want to give her the part because she is so excited about it. Do you know what he did? He filmed a whole reel of Rupa in an old Nargis ji song called Jago Mohan Pyaare. What he shot was so beautiful. “Better than the whole movie.” She also said that he showed the clip to people who sell movies. It was his goal to show them that Zeenat Aman could be Rupa. “Every country was interested,” she said.

Zeenat Aman is about to return to movies with Manish Malhotra’s “Bun Tikki,” which also stars Abhay Deol and Shabana Azmi. Director Faraz Arif Ansari made the movie, and Abhay Deol plays the lead role. Manish Malhotra’s Stage 5 Productions will handle the making of the movie, along with Jyoti Deshpande, Dinesh Malhotra, and Marijke Desouza.
