Konkona Sensharma: “I’m an accidental actor”

Over the course of her 20-year acting career, Konkona Sensharma has wowed audiences with a wide range of parts. People were also pleased by her work as a director on “A Death in the Gunj” and a part of “Lust Stories 2.” Still, she never thought that she would become an actor and then a director. She just went with the flow and ended up making films.

“I’m mostly an actor,” she told ANI. I wasn’t going to direct. I always meant to be an artist. I’m not eager, I used to be. I’m an actor by accident.” “Because I didn’t want to be an actor,” she said. I later turned into. It was good work. People liked the work I did. It seems like I spend a lot of time in Bombay (Mumbai). I guess I should get a house or rent a flat and see how things go. I have this thing all the time. By nature, I’m not very committed. Let’s check out how things are going. Then we’ll make a choice. I can’t make plans. There’s nothing planned for next weekend.

“A Death in the Gunj” is a drama movie from 2016 that was written and directed by Konkona Sensharma. The actor talked about her time working on the movie and the advice she got from her mother, Aparna Sen, a professional film director and screenwriter: “I used to call her (Aparna Sen) every day with a list of questions.” It was set in McCluskieganj in 1979, and there wasn’t a lot of information about that town at the time. Some of it was also studied to be fair. “We did some study, but a lot of it came from talking to my parents and their friends… “Did the hot water run?” A lot of people were curious about that world and what makes memories so interesting. Who were the Anglo Indians who lived there? Where did you guys go? People remember things in different ways, which makes memory very tricky. My dad would say “no,” but something would be going on over there, and my mom would say “Oh!” “I thought it was something,” so it’s really nice, and it was lovely because it’s almost magical and made up.”

Being on the sets helped Konkona, even though she wasn’t sure she wanted to become a director at first. “I believe that just being on sets is very good. I would suggest it to anyone who wants to start a job in movies, behind the scenes, or anything else. Film sets are so disorganised that they might look like a mess to someone who isn’t in the business. There are between 100 and 200 people, based on how much is being made. The setting isn’t very stable or easy to understand. It seems to me that a set is better for you if it makes you feel good. You’ll know everything there is to know about the world as an actress.

After being in films for a long time and playing different characters, the star said she always wants to play roles that people can relate to. “It has to be relatable to me,” she said when asked what was important to her in a part or project. “Indira,” a movie about a kid artist, was Konkona’s first job. People became interested in her when she made the movie “Mr. and Mrs. Iyer.” ‘Page 3’ was her first movie in Hindi, and ‘Omkara’ (2006) and ‘Life in a… Metro’ (2008) won her two Filmfare Awards in a row for Best Supporting Actress. She has also been in films like “15 Park Avenue,” “Dosar,” “Laaga Chunari Mein Daag,” “Luck By Chance,” “Wake Up Sid,” and “Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?”

She is currently in the crime show “Killer Soup.” Manoj Bajpayee, Konkona Sensharma, Nasser, Sayaji Shinde, Lal, Anbuthasan, Anula Navlekar, and Kani Kusruti play important parts in the show, which is directed by Abhishek Chaubey. The show’s main character is a new cook named Swathi Shetty who wants everyone to enjoy her soup. She and her partner are in a lot of trouble after one mistake sets off a chain of others and has to be quickly dealt with.
