Kristin Cabot Breaks Silence On Her Kids Reaction after the Coldplay ‘Kiss Cam’ Scandal

The former Astronomer executive reveals the harrowing fallout of the viral Gillette Stadium moment that left her “unemployable” and her family in hiding.

Months after the world watched a 16-second clip of a “kiss cam” encounter in Boston, Kristin Cabot is finally telling her side of the story. The former Head of HR at tech firm Astronomer spoke with the New York Times about the night her professional and personal lives collided under the bright lights of a Coldplay concert.

The Night the World Watched

The scandal began at Gillette Stadium in July 2025, during Chris Martin’s “Jumbotron Song.” The camera panned to Cabot and her then-boss, CEO Andy Byron, in an intimate embrace. Their panicked reaction—Cabot burying her face and Byron ducking out of frame—prompted Martin to joke, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”

Cabot admitted the moment was fueled by a “couple of High Noons” (hard seltzers) and a “big happy crush” on Byron. While the internet turned the incident into a meme, Cabot described it as the moment her life was “permanently altered.”

The Toll on Her Children

The most heart-wrenching part of Cabot’s account involves her two children. The viral fame quickly turned dark as death threats began pouring in.

  • A Chilling Overheard Message: Cabot recalled playing a threatening voicemail for her mother, unaware her children were listening. “My kids were afraid that I was going to die and they were going to die,” she shared.
  • Public Shaming: Simple outings became impossible. At a town pool, a stranger began taking photos of Cabot and her daughter, leading the young girl to plead through tears, “Please, can we just go?”
  • The Workplace Incident: Even picking up her son from work led to a confrontation where a group of women labeled her “that girl” in an attempt to shame her.

A “Gentlemanly” Ex-Husband and a Path to Healing

Despite the “scarlet letter” she felt she was wearing, Cabot found an unlikely ally in her then-husband, Massachusetts entrepreneur Andrew Cabot.

  • The Statement: Andrew issued a public clarification that the couple had been “privately and amicably separated” weeks before the concert.
  • The Support: Kristin described Andrew as “nothing but a gentleman” throughout the ordeal. The two have since filed for divorce.

Reclaiming Her Identity

Today, the family is slowly emerging from the shadow of #ColdplayGate. The children have returned to school after seeing therapists and are reportedly being treated with kindness by their peers.

As for Kristin, she is reclaiming her narrative with a touch of humor and defiance. She recently began leaving the house more frequently, occasionally wearing a T-shirt that simply reads: “Yes It’s Me.”
