Kriti Sanon Excited For ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ And Shares Desire To Collaborate With Allu Arjun

March 9, 2025: Actress Kriti Sanon, who recently won the award for Best Performance in a Leading Role (Female) for her film Do Patti at the 25th International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA), shared her excitement and thoughts on her journey, future aspirations, and her evolving career on the global stage.

Kriti expressed her joy over the warm reception of Do Patti, saying, “IIFA is a celebration. The nervousness about Do Patti is over now because everyone loved the film.” Her win was a significant moment in her career, and she reflected on how the recognition encouraged her to continue exploring new roles and projects.

When asked about international collaborations, Kriti revealed that while choosing one artist to work with was difficult, she would love to work with acting legends like Meryl Streep and Ryan Gosling. She said, “There are so many! Ryan Gosling as well,” showing her excitement for opportunities in global cinema.

During the interview, Kriti also shared her views on the ongoing debate around content restrictions on digital platforms. She advocated for a more balanced approach, stating, “There is censorship in theatres, but digital platforms show international content without any restrictions. So, there should be balance. Either all content should have similar regulations, or none at all, regardless of whether it is from India or abroad.”

Reflecting on her past achievements, Kriti spoke about her National Film Award win for Mimi, which she described as a major validation of her craft. “It gives you the confidence to take risks,” she explained. “As an artist, it makes you believe in doing something different. People also start looking at you through a different lens.” This recognition has given Kriti the confidence to take on diverse roles and explore more challenging projects.

Kriti also revealed that she is currently working on a new film titled Tere Ishq Mein, directed by Anand L. Rai and starring Dhanush. “It’s a beautiful film—something I haven’t done before. Love stories are my favorite genre, and Anand sir does them so well and uniquely. Working with Dhanush for the first time is also very exciting,” she shared, hinting at the freshness the project brings to her career.

When asked what she would have pursued if not acting, Kriti, who holds an engineering degree, admitted, “I would have done something related to the entertainment industry. I don’t know what, but something for sure.”

On her wish list for South Indian collaborations, Kriti named Allu Arjun and filmmakers S.S. Rajamouli and Sukumar. She fondly remembered her debut with Sukumar in the 2014 Telugu film Nenokkadine and expressed a desire to work with him again in the future.

Kriti also took a moment to acknowledge the growth of the IIFA Awards, noting, “IIFA has grown tremendously and continues to showcase Indian cinema internationally. This year, bringing the awards to Rajasthan, with its beauty, dance, music, and palaces, is ideal.”

While awards like the IIFA mean a lot to her, Kriti emphasized that the love and support of her audience is the biggest reward. “It means you’ve done a good job, but the biggest reward is the love of the audience, which stays with me forever.”

Lastly, when discussing her performance at IIFA, she admitted feeling nervous before taking the stage but added, “Once I’m on stage, I forget everything and just enjoy the moment.”

The IIFA 2025 is currently underway in Jaipur, and the grand IIFA Awards Night, set for March 9, will feature a special celebration of the iconic film Sholay on its 50th anniversary, with an exclusive screening at the famous Raj Mandir Cinema. Legendary MMA fighter Anthony Pettis will also make a special appearance, and Kartik Aaryan will host the awards show. Kareena Kapoor Khan is set to perform at the event and pay tribute to her grandfather, legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor.
