Kamaal R Khan critiques timeline inconsistency, lengthy action scenes, and controversial dialogues in the Ranveer Singh starrer
March 22, 2026: Kamaal R Khan has raised questions over a key inconsistency in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, pointing out a timeline mismatch involving a character believed to be inspired by Ilyas Kashmiri. According to him, while the real-life figure died in 2011, the film depicts the character reacting to events from 2023, creating what he called a noticeable logical flaw. He further detailed a sequence of real-world events involving RAW operations and political timelines to underline the discrepancy.
Beyond the timeline issue, Kamaal R Khan criticised the film’s narrative choices, particularly the inclusion of a character resembling Dawood Ibrahim. In his review, he argued that the storyline “unnecessarily glorifies” the underworld figure and that the track adds little value to the overall plot. He also suggested that several portions of the film could have been trimmed to improve pacing and engagement.
A major part of his criticism focused on the film’s length and action sequences. KRK described them as excessively stretched, citing a 15-minute opening fight and a nearly 30-minute climax sequence. He also questioned the frequent use of abusive language in dialogues, noting the audience’s surprising positive response. Despite mixed reviews and ongoing debate, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, continues to perform strongly at the box office.
