K’taka Congress MLA Ravikumar Gowda Claims Rashmika Mandanna Declined Event Invitation, Promises Proof

March 4, 2025: Actor Rashmika Mandanna has recently found herself at the center of controversy following allegations made by Karnataka Congress MLA Ravikumar Gowda Ganiga. The politician claimed that Rashmika’s team had declined an invitation to attend the International Film Festival in Bengaluru. According to Ravikumar, the refusal came despite a formal invitation from the Karnataka government, which had extended the offer to the ‘Chhaava’ actress for her participation in the prestigious event.

In a press interaction on Tuesday, Ravikumar went on to state that he has evidence to back up his claims, asserting that he would soon release the proof publicly. He clarified that the decision to not attend the event was made by Rashmika’s team and not by her personally. Ravikumar had earlier raised concerns over the refusal, stating that Rashmika, despite being a Kannadiga, had chosen not to attend an event in her home state. He further threatened that the actress should be “taught a lesson,” although he quickly clarified that his comments were not meant to incite violence or rowdyism.

Ravikumar expressed his disappointment over Rashmika’s decision, emphasizing his pride in being a Kannadiga. He said, “Being a Kannadiga, I stand by the statement I gave. I am proud to be standing with my motherland, my language, and my people. We are proud of Rashmika Mandanna; she is a Kannadiga. We called her, but she said she did not have time for Kannadigas. Is this the way to treat Kannadigas?”

Ravikumar added that, while Rashmika’s success in Bollywood is commendable, she should not forget her roots in Karnataka, which helped shape her career. He also reiterated that when he mentioned “teaching her a lesson,” he was not referring to any form of violence, but rather a need for respect towards her home state.

As of now, Rashmika Mandanna has not responded to the allegations or the claims made by Ravikumar Gowda Ganiga.
