Kuberaa Day 2 Box Office: Dhanush Film Holds Strong at ₹51 Cr, Beats Sitaare Zameen Par

June 22, 2025: Sekhar Kammula’s much-anticipated multi-starrer Kuberaa is holding its ground at the global box office, maintaining a narrow lead over Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par by the end of day two. Featuring Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna, and Jim Sarbh, Kuberaa was released this Friday and has already crossed the ₹50 crore mark worldwide.

According to trade website Sacnilk, Kuberaa has collected ₹31.25 crore net and ₹36.70 crore gross in India within the first two days. With an additional ₹15 crore coming from international markets, the total worldwide collection now stands at ₹51.70 crore.

In comparison, Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan’s emotional drama, has made ₹50 crore in two days—just ₹1.7 crore short of Kuberaa. While Kuberaa had a strong start with ₹27.50 crore worldwide on day 1 compared to Sitaare Zameen Par‘s ₹20 crore, the gap has considerably narrowed.

Day 2₹51.70 crore₹50 crore

Despite the close numbers, Kuberaa is showing strong traction, especially in the Telugu belt where it recorded a Sunday occupancy rate of 66.19%. The film is performing better in Telugu than in Tamil and other dubbed versions.

About Kuberaa

Directed by Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa weaves together four distinct stories—Deva (Dhanush), a beggar with a mysterious past; Deepak Tej (Nagarjuna), a former CBI officer corrupted by power; Sameera (Rashmika Mandanna), a woman stranded in Mumbai; and Neeraj Mitra (Jim Sarbh), a ruthless CEO.

At a pre-release event, Dhanush shared a personal story from filming, describing how shooting at a Mumbai dumpyard transported him back to his humble beginnings. “It was enlightening and nostalgic… This film reminds me of my childhood and my journey,” the actor said.

With both Kuberaa and Sitaare Zameen Par receiving positive reviews, the final weekend numbers will decide which film claims box office supremacy.
