New Delhi, April 11 – After a strong start at the box office, Mohanlal’s high-octane action thriller L2 Empuraan appears to be losing steam. On Day 14, the film collected just ₹1.15 crore, marking its lowest single-day earnings so far, according to Sacnilk.

Released on March 27, the Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial has now earned a domestic total of ₹102.35 crore. While still a major commercial success, the second-week slowdown reflects waning momentum after an impressive first week.

The film recorded an overall Malayalam occupancy of 13.77% on April 9, further suggesting a dip in audience turnout as the buzz begins to settle.

Mohanlal on Working with Prithviraj

Speaking to PTI, Mohanlal praised Prithviraj’s evolution as a director:

“He knows what he’s doing… He is totally into the film. This is a trilogy, and the next chapter will take some time. The action in this one is very different.”

What’s Next?

While the film has crossed the ₹100 crore milestone, its continued performance will now depend on weekend footfall, word-of-mouth, and competition from recent releases like Sunny Deol’s Jaat and Salman Khan’s Sikandar.
