June 02, 2025: Nevermore Academy just got a whole lot more glamorous—and eerie. Putting months of speculation to rest, Netflix officially announced at its Tudum fan event on May 31 in Los Angeles that Lady Gaga will join the cast of Wednesday for its highly anticipated second season.
Gaga will portray Rosaline Rotwood, described as a “mysterious and enigmatic” Nevermore teacher who finds herself entangled in Wednesday Addams’ dark web of curiosities. The role marks a bold return to horror for Gaga, whose prior genre credentials include American Horror Story’s Hotel and Roanoke seasons.

The reveal was nothing short of theatrical: Gaga emerged from a coffin during the Tudum event to perform a mini-set, including Mayhem tracks Zombieboy and Abracadabra, and even delivered a choreographed tribute to The Cramps’ “Goo Goo Muck”—a nod to Jenna Ortega’s now-iconic dance scene from season one. She ended her performance by dramatically disappearing back into the coffin, leaving fans stunned and eager.
Though her last big-screen project, Joker: Folie à Deux (2024), received lukewarm reviews, Gaga’s acting chops remain unquestioned. Her Oscar-winning performance in A Star is Born and her powerful turn in House of Gucci solidified her as a versatile performer capable of going toe-to-toe with industry heavyweights.
Netflix also shared the first six minutes of Wednesday season two, though Gaga’s Rosaline Rotwood has yet to appear. Still, if history and hype are anything to go by, her debut is bound to be memorable.
With Gaga joining Jenna Ortega and the returning cast, Wednesday season two is shaping up to be even more thrilling, stylish, and strange than its predecessor.
