Gaga shared that while Polansky was impressive in many ways, what truly captured her heart was how much he cared about her family and wanted to understand her life on a deeper level. “From the moment that I met Michael, he had the most warm and kind disposition of maybe anyone that I had met in my whole life,” Gaga shared. “Yes, he was impressive, but the thing I cared about the most was he wanted to know about my family.”

She continued to explain that Polansky wasn’t just interested in the typical glamorous or celebrity lifestyle. Instead, he showed a deep interest in building a genuine connection with her by doing simple activities, like taking walks and going rock climbing together. “He wanted to take walks with me. He took me rock climbing,” Gaga said, emphasizing that their connection was based on a real friendship. “I knew Michael was genuine because he wanted to be my friend.”

Gaga also mentioned how Polansky inspired her to feel more hopeful about her pain condition, further solidifying the deep trust and bond they share. She expressed her gratitude for finding such a supportive and understanding partner, something she hadn’t had in her life before. “It was really hard not having it… Being actually friends with somebody is a very specific thing. You can sit in a room together and not talk. You can take long walks and talk about your family,” she reflected.
