Lagaan’s Iconic Song ‘Radha Kaise Na Jale’ Celebrated by Oscars Academy, Fans Are Loving It!

May 31, 2025: Over two decades after its release, Lagaan continues to captivate hearts across the globe. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, known for organizing the Oscars, recently paid tribute to the iconic Indian film by sharing a clip of the song Radha Kaise Na Jale on Instagram — and fans couldn’t hold back their nostalgia.

The video, featuring Aamir Khan and Gracy Singh, showcases the beloved track sung by legends Asha Bhosale and Udit Narayan. In the caption, The Academy wrote: “Love, longing and a little bit of fire in her eyes. Aamir Khan and Gracy Singh performing Radha Kaise Na Jale (vocals by Asha Bhosale and Udit Narayan) from Ashutosh Gowariker’s Lagaan. The film was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film (India) at the 74th Oscars.”

Fans flooded the comment section with admiration and nostalgia. Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and released in 2001, Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India is an epic period musical sports drama set during British colonial rule. It tells the story of a small Indian village that takes on British officers in a high-stakes game of cricket to avoid oppressive taxes.
