Lawrence Bishnoi’s Family Claims Salman Khan Offered Money Over Blackbuck Case: ‘Our Blood Was Boiling’

October 25, 2024: The blackbuck poaching case involving Bollywood star Salman Khan has resurfaced, as Lawrence Bishnoi’s cousin, Ramesh Bishnoi, has publicly supported the jailed gangster. In a recent interview with NDTV, Ramesh alleged that Salman Khan had once offered money to the Bishnoi community, which they declined. The community has continued to stand with Lawrence, who is currently facing multiple charges and is held in Sabarmati jail, Gujarat.

Bishnoi Community Rejects Salman Khan’s Alleged Offer Ramesh Bishnoi claimed that after the blackbuck incident, which deeply offended the Bishnoi community as they regard the animal as sacred, Salman Khan attempted to reconcile by offering money. “Salman’s father, Salim Khan, accused the Lawrence gang of seeking money. I want to remind him that his son brought a cheque book and told the community to write down the amount they wanted. If we were after money, we would have accepted it back then,” Ramesh told NDTV.

Blackbuck Poaching and Community Outrage Salman Khan was accused of hunting a blackbuck, an act that sparked widespread anger among the Bishnoi community, known for their reverence towards the animal. In a 2023 interview, Lawrence Bishnoi himself stated that Salman had disrespected their community by killing the blackbuck, as reported by PTI.

Ramesh explained that the entire community was deeply affected by the incident. “When Salman Khan killed the blackbuck, every Bishnoi’s blood was boiling. We decided to leave the matter to the court, but when the community was mocked, it was natural for us to get angry. Today, the entire Bishnoi community stands by Lawrence in this matter,” he asserted.

Death Threats and Security Concerns Over the years, Salman Khan has received several death threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang, following the blackbuck incident. Earlier this year, the Navi Mumbai Police filed a case against 18 members of the Bishnoi gang for allegedly plotting to assassinate Salman at his farmhouse near Mumbai.

In April, security around Salman’s Bandra residence was intensified after a series of fresh death threats, with demands for ₹5 crore as extortion to end the long-standing feud between Salman and Lawrence Bishnoi. According to police, a threatening message was sent to the Mumbai Traffic Police’s WhatsApp, warning, “If Salman Khan wants to stay alive and end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, he must pay ₹5 crore. Otherwise, his condition will be worse than Baba Siddique.”

A few days later, an apology message was received from the same number that had previously sent the threats, indicating a reversal on the earlier warning.

The renewed claims from Lawrence Bishnoi’s family and the ongoing security issues highlight the continuing tensions stemming from the blackbuck poaching case, a matter that has haunted Salman Khan for years.
