Leonardo DiCaprio Supports Kamala Harris, Bashes Trump
October 26, 2024: Leonardo DiCaprio has publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for U.S. president, using his platform to highlight the urgent need for climate action.
On Instagram, DiCaprio, well-known for his environmental advocacy, voiced his concerns about climate change, linking it to recent severe weather events like hurricanes. He expressed disappointment in Donald Trump’s approach to climate issues, criticizing Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accords and rollback of environmental protections in favor of the fossil fuel industry.
In his statement, DiCaprio explained why he supports Harris, citing her commitment to combating climate change. He praised her role in passing the Inflation Reduction Act and her ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. “Under her leadership, we set ambitious targets for achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and building a green economy that not only creates jobs but also helps save our planet,” DiCaprio said. He urged his followers to join him in voting for Harris on November 5 to secure a sustainable future.
Harris’s campaign has garnered additional celebrity endorsements from Taylor Swift, Oprah Winfrey, Meryl Streep, Chris Rock, and George Clooney as election day approaches.
