A cease-and-desist letter allegedly sent by Kanye West to his ex-wife Kim Kardashian over parenting issues has now been confirmed as fake.
May 10, 2025: Los Angeles — West’s spokesperson dismissed the letter as “quite obviously fraudulent”, after TMZ initially reported on its contents without verifying its authenticity. “TMZ didn’t ask for comment before running the story,” the spokesperson said on May 9. “This morning, they finally emailed us with second thoughts, asking if it had been a ‘publicity stunt.’ No. You fell for a hoax.”

- Sharing their daughter North West’s image on social media, despite West’s past objections.
- Allegedly limiting Kanye’s access to their children: North (11), Saint (9), Chicago (7), and Psalm (5).
- Bringing North to the 2025 Met Gala, allegedly exposing her to heightened media attention and leaving her “unattended.”

Context: A Tumultuous Co-Parenting History
The viral hoax emerged just weeks after Kanye West made controversial comments in an interview with DJ Akademiks, where he stated he regretted having children with Kardashian, whom he divorced in 2022.
“I didn’t want to have children with this person after the first two months of being with them,” West said in the March 30 interview. “But that wasn’t God’s plan.”
He also questioned the nature of their joint custody agreement, stating:
“I don’t have at least 50-50 with my kids, so how is it joint custody? My kids are celebrities, and I don’t have a say.”
Kanye, Kim & Public Scrutiny
West and Kardashian have long been under public scrutiny for their co-parenting dynamics. Despite finalizing their divorce over two years ago, the couple continues to make headlines — most recently when Kanye featured their daughter North on a track with Sean “Diddy” Combs, despite Kim’s reported disapproval.
As of now, Kim Kardashian has not commented publicly on the fake cease-and-desist letter.
