A poignant two-minute video tribute followed, set to the iconic One Direction ballad “Little Things,” featuring Payne’s vocals. The montage highlighted his early years, touching moments with family, and the meteoric rise of One Direction, beginning with the band’s formation on The X Factor UK in 2010. The video tribute was a deeply emotional moment, resonating with both fans and industry members present at the ceremony.

Ahead of the event, there had been speculation that the tribute might include a reunion of the remaining One Direction members — Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik — marking the band’s first collective appearance in nearly a decade. Liam Payne tragically passed away on October 16, 2024, in Buenos Aires. The news sent shockwaves through the music industry, and tributes poured in from fans and artists worldwide. Payne’s funeral took place in Buckinghamshire in November 2024, with close friends and family in attendance.

In December, authorities revealed that five individuals were charged in connection with Payne’s death.
