Despite massive hype and a festive release, Sikandar is facing harsh criticism over its weak storyline, poor acting, and empty theatres—even on Eid.
March 31, 2025: Salman Khan’s much-hyped Eid release Sikandar has landed with a thud. Moviegoers have not only given the film a thumbs down — they’re calling it one of the worst cinematic experiences of their lives.
Released on March 30, Sikandar was expected to set the box office on fire. But despite opening on a holiday, the film managed just ₹26 crore on Day 1 — falling short of even Chhaava, which opened at ₹31 crore. Now, early viewer reactions are spelling doom for the film’s future.
Brutal Audience Reactions:
From social media to theatre exits, Sikandar is being panned across the board.
- “Life ki sabse wahiyat movie thi,” one viewer said. “Salman ki acting bhi bilkul wahiyat thi.”
- “Paisa waste,” wrote another on Instagram, slamming the film’s visuals as “ghatiya quality.”
- “There is no story. Just slow-motion shots of Salman. Looks like AI was used to make him appear younger.”

- “Maza nahi aaya. Salman jaisa laga hi nahi. Bodybuilder lag raha tha.”
Some fans walked out of theatres early. Others claimed halls were “empty even on Eid”, and many called the film a flop outright.
Disappointment in Direction and Story
Even AR Murugadoss, known for action-packed entertainers, wasn’t spared. One viewer said:
“There is action and a social message, but it all feels dated.”
Another added:
“Couldn’t understand Salman’s role. He didn’t feel like the hero — just another bulky guy on screen.”
Sikandar: What Went Wrong?
- Weak storyline
- Lack of emotional depth
- Over-reliance on stylised visuals
- No memorable moments or dialogues
- Disengaged performances — especially from Salman, who many felt was simply going through the motions
Even die-hard fans admitted:
“It felt like someone else was trying to be Salman Khan.”
The Film and the Hype
Directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Sikandar stars Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Prateik Babbar, Sharman Joshi, and Sathyaraj in key roles.
During the trailer launch, Salman had boldly claimed:
“Good or bad, our films cross ₹100 crore anyway. This one will hit ₹200 crore.”
But going by the early signs, Sikandar may struggle to hit even that first milestone.
